Flystudio establish in 2001, one of the leading Animation & VFX production studios in Malaysia. Our business covers pre-production, animation production and VFX solutions. The company has more than 19 years of experiences technical team, produced critically acclaimed international film projects including: GANTZ – 0, Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil , Tekken, Ne Zha and many more, , work along with top Japan, Korea, China and US production companies, committed to providing high-quality, high-efficiency professional services for many years.

The company is located in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, with multi-cultural urban conditions, government openness and preferential policies. It brings together a large number of outstanding technology and creative talents from Asia Pacific and has gradually developed into an Asia Pacific outsourcing center.

Our History
2001 Flystudio was founded in 2001 as a CG (Computer Generated) Production Studio by a group of ambitious young visionaries passionate about bringing cutting-edge visual effects to the screen. Initially, the studio focused on providing VFX services for TV commercials (TVCM) and feature films, laying the groundwork for future growth.
2003 Flystudio’s production quality gained international recognition with the TVCM for Munchy’s – Mini Tiger Bar, which won 3rd prize at the Anicomm Awards (US) for World’s Best Commercials. The studio also achieved local acclaim with Channel [V]’s “The Ticket,” directed by Steve Bristow, which won the Kancil Award for Best Use of Motion Graphics.
2004 Flystudio expanded its portfolio by securing contracts to provide VFX for several notable local feature films, including “Pontianak,” “Gong,” and “Buli Balik.” One standout project, “Senario XX,” featured over 20 complex CG scenes, showcasing Flystudio’s growing expertise and capacity to handle VFX-heavy productions.
2005 Flystudio was awarded the contract to produce an animated marketing video for Tourism Malaysia, targeting audiences in Japan and Korea. The project introduced “SITI,” a CG character designed with a feminine and graceful animation style, effectively capturing Malaysia’s scenic beauty for an international audience and setting a new standard for local animation.
2006 Flystudio’s exceptional work began attracting international game developers, marking the studio’s entry into 3D in-game projects. This expansion set the stage for further growth in the gaming industry. The same year, Flystudio partnered with UK-based Igloo Digital Art Inc. to establish Igloo Digital Arts Sdn Bhd, solidifying its presence in the global market.
2007 Flystudio evolves from a team of generalists into specialized departments, allowing artists to hone their skills and elevate the studio’s output. This structural shift leads to rapid growth, expanding into the Indonesian TV commercial market with notable projects like Soyjoy – Soypermarket. Partnering with UK-based Igloo Digital Art Inc. also results in the establishment of Igloo Digital Arts Sdn Bhd.
2008 Flystudio produces the acclaimed ‘Nippon Paint Blobby’ TV commercial, winning a Merit Award for Best Animation at the 2008 Kancil Awards. This recognition cements Flystudio as a leading brand in Malaysia’s TV commercial industry.
2009 Venturing into international markets, Flystudio begins producing TV commercials for India, Vietnam, China, and Dubai, while also entering the game cinematic space in Japan. Highlights include the Astro B.yond HD commercial, one of Malaysia’s 1st high-definition TVCs.
2010 Building on the success of ‘Blobby,’ Flystudio produces ‘Nippon Paint Blobby 2010,’ which leaves a lasting impression on audiences. Other notable projects include Suntory Boss – Traffic Jam and Honda – 4SEATER+IDEAS. This year also sees the acquisition of Igloo Digital Arts Sdn Bhd by Lemon Sky Animation.
2011 Flystudio joins the Digital Frontier Group and embarks on its first major animated feature project, Resident Evil: Damnation, contributing modeling, animation, simulation, and effects. The studio pivots its focus exclusively toward game cinematics and animated features.
2012 Flystudio’s work on “Resident Evil: Degeneration” showcases its prowess, as the film achieves over 40 million yen in box office sales and sells 1.6 million DVDs and Blu-rays worldwide. This year also marks the establishment of Flystudio’s game art division, with a key project being METAL GEAR RISING: REVENGEANCE for Konami Digital Entertainment, Japan.

The studio continues its momentum by contributing to the “Ryuu ga Gotoku Isshin” and “Ryuu ga Gotoku 0.”
2015 Flystudio participates in the production of the CG feature film “GANTZ O” and “Ryuu ga Gotoku 6,” further solidifying its reputation in high-quality game cinematics.
2016 Flystudio contributes to the anime series “Infini-T Force,” video game “Tekken 7,” and arcade game “Magician’s Dead,” expanding its influence across different entertainment mediums.
2017 Founder Wee Meng Hee reacquires Flystudio and restructures the company into small, cross-functional teams to enhance agility and collaboration. This reorganization allows Flystudio to break into the Chinese, Korean, and Japanese VFX industries, co-producing projects such as the Ultraman VR movie, TV series, feature films, and theme park attractions. The strategic shift positions Flystudio as a key player in these major Asian markets, further expanding its influence in the global VFX landscape.
2018 Flystudio opens a branch in Shenzhen, China, known as 深圳市飞动科技有限公司. The studio wins contracts to produce works such as “NeZha” and “Jiang Ziya” and collaborates with Mara Corporation on talent training programs in animation and VFX.
2019 Flystudio is awarded the contract to produce Netflix’s “The Ghost Bride,” delivering approximately 300 VFX shots in Ultra HD/4K. The studio also produces the animated series “Super Mind” for Cambridge, spanning 30 episodes.
2020 Flystudio expands its portfolio with projects like Netflix’s “MR. MIDNIGHT: BEWARE THE MONSTERS,” Takashi Miike’s “The Great Yokai War: Guardians,” and “Ajwan,” the first-ever sci-fi animated series from the MENA region. The studio also wins the Digital Content Grant 2020 for its IP project, “Stella War.”
2021 In collaboration with Pop Films, Flystudio extends its reach to North American and European markets, providing Asian film production, animation, and VFX services. Major projects include VFX for “Cloudy Mountain,” which topped the Chinese box office, and working with Warner Bros Animation on a new 3D look for “Animaniacs.”
2022 Flystudio secures contracts for high-profile Korea projects including “ALCHEMY OF SOUL,” “ISLAND,” and “REBORN RICH” Other projects include “AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER,” “THE DEVIL CONSPIRACY” and “SORE GA IRU MORI.” The studio’s creative excellence was recognized at the Kancil Awards 2022, where the Chipsmore Monopoly campaign won 1 silver, 1 bronze, and 3 merits.
2023 The studio embarks on producing its own IP film, “A Mighty Adventure,” and wins the contract for “Gormiti – The New Era,” continuing to push the boundaries of animation and VFX.
